WHAT IS WOMEN BUILD?
National Women Build Week is taking place this year from May 6th – May 14th.
This a week that highlights the work that Women Build crews in the United States do throughout the year, and includes a week long schedule of activities, including a series of Women Build Blitz (WBB) days. The activities include framing, hammering, wrapping, windows, site clean-up and more. They feel a sense of accomplishment and rise in self-esteem as we set them up to succeed with our “hand up not a hand out” mission.
In 2003 Lowe’s, a Fortune 50 home improvement company partnered with Habitat for Humanity International and has committed more than $63 million dollars and has helped more than 5,500 Habitat families improve their living conditions and have a place to call “Home”. In addition to their monetary support in the communities in which their stores are located, Lowe’s employees (Lowe’s Heroes) have also dedicated countless volunteer hours to make the communities in which they live and work a better place.
